WE HAVE A PROBLEM.

I'm sure all my soundcloud buddies got the email from soundcloud saying they are limiting us to 15 track (3 hour max). just go through the recent Dibiase debates etc twitter. he has some solid points, not all I agree with.

I'm not happy with their business model and havent been since the OG souncloud where every1 listened to each other and gave feedback on each others shit. before ads. when it was all free. It's only gone downhill for me. I keep seeing heads say "just use spotify". Those people are missing the point. Soundcloud was a place to upload a gritty mp3 and get feedback. not no shoe polished album... where do we have that platform anymore? we don't. Out to my coder friends, their is a niche right now and you could hit a jackpot. <3

get a pro account?.. it doesn't have the adds either.
not everything can be free.
I miss the fact that a whole convo doesn't pop up anymore like in classic SC.
now you gotta click farther into the track to see if there's even responses to the comments.
that might be attributing to why listening and giving feedback has declined.

SC has really gone a bit strange in their effort to
generate revenue.
The older users, especially free account holders,
seem to have become alienated, which is a pity
considering that these are the users which
generate the most music, traffic and community.
Perhaps the soul has moved on, but to where?

Everybody seems to be looking for alternatives and
there are some other great options out there.

I like HearThis
It's got most of the features of soundcloud plus some
other options on the free account plan.

Audiomack
is another spot which has become very hiphop oriented and has
free plan where you can release single tracks or albums.

Of these HearThis is most like SC as it was in the old days.
Audiomack is a hiphop listener's paradise.

+1
HearThis is the best SC alternative. I have been posting mixtapes there for years
and have never had any issues. In most ways it is superior to SC, and reminds me
a little of Official.fm, (a now defunct audio hosting site that had great community).
Also you can cross post from SC and you can add friends from SC if they have an HT
account.

Have say the same thing in another forum, Tretschinken!

I endorse Audiomack for hiphop release.
It's great.
here is my page:

they rolled it back. they're not only huge morons but they're massive pussies too. just like the rest of the tech world

wo!.. totally glossed over the 15 track part.. was thinking 3 hours was reasonable for free.. maybe not.
anyhoo, glad SC came to their senses.
it's still (one of) the only one(s) on which you can place comments.
and it has the nicest environment too imo.
that Top Track feature sucks big time though.
businesses need to make money..I hope they find a way to stay afloat
coz it's just the best platform for independent artists to meet etc. ( again imo )
they shouldv'e never killed off the Groups either.

haha crisis
have been averted.

soundcloud has heard your wishes Joa!

I think top tracks is over and gone.
I hated it so much!

I also hated the limit on Sound cloud, I was always running out of space to upload, and would have to delete some tracks,
so I paid the extra.

Also does anyone else ever get a new follower when they upload a new track?
Another one of those Music Agents or talent Scout.
Seems to be happing a lot, or the random comments About tevli boom??? WTF

Folks will happily spend ££$$€€THOUSANDS on gear, software and sounds but can't drop £7 a month for a pro account?
:hmm: That shit seems like a selectively privileged mindset to me.

One week left (9th March 2020) on the 10% discount for the pro account....... if you're really about that "investing in your craft" life.

I agree sc is now a flop but I expect nothing from any free service.

If a service is free YOU are the product.
