Forgot how good this record was too

Man I absolutely love Joey Badass! I remember when “1999“ came out and I was like “ok who took all these great beats, some that i didnt even know of, and is so bold to rap over them, and absolutely MURDERS them. Who is this? Why is he so good (that flow wow) and I havent heard of him. WAIT WHAT, he's like 17 years old? WTF, NO WAY!!!! Been a fan ever since. survival tactics has a video and is one of my favs, but especially the world domination track with that crazy doom beat blew my mind. found out that the sample is actually from a bill cosby show bit. even tried to replay it on the piano back then, but no actual notes and no actual talent, haha. the 2015 album is great too imo. one of the first tracks paper trails is produced by preemo as far as i remember it. had to look it up, because it did not have that typical preemo sound. really like that, because to me that beat is fresh and not reminiscing too much in 90s sound, but still stays true to it. some more heavy bangers on it for sure. man I just fanboi'd the fuck out. i'll stop now

Man, I've been in a Joey Badass mood now the past few days, going through all his stuff again. Every project is excellent, I remember when b4da$$ released I figured that would be my hip hop album of the year - then Kendrick dropped TPAB lol. Funny enough, the next albums from both of them it was switched for me - All Amerikkan was a MUCH better album than Damn. As you mention, it's insane how good of a rapper this dude was right from the start - forgot he was only 17 when 1999 came out

This one's been on repeat today

Too many more to post at one time

Was digging this one especially, gave him a follow 👍

I've been listening to Iridescence a bit the past few days, after the Saturation trilogy this one was kind of a bummer with Ameer getting booted - but going back to it, feel like a lot of people didn't give it a fair shot
