STBB Monthly #002

Congrats on the win joa and gd!!!
NICE Rules... This makes us use the four weeks.
Usually i would have started with the melodic part... That brings up one question for me... are we allowed to make changes in the drumloop in week four like for breaks or replace some kicks?
Either way... Count me in...

thanks mr. nbtbl!
glad u dig.
yes, the challenge is to make your melodic samples fit with your drumbeat made in week 1.
it's cool and I think even desired to eventually customise your drumbeat for the arrangement of the track.
I'm not sure what you mean with replacing kicks?
once you've chosen certain kick you gotta stick with it.
I can imagine you'd wanna maybe pitch it a little, to fit the key of your melody.
if you mean, adding or removing a kick or other hit here and there to create a variation, that's a yes.

have fun!

Thanks for clarification J.
With replacing i meant to find a a new place for a particular drumhit in case it has troubles with his new neighbors...

Congrats JG and GD. Cool idea to split the month up like this into beat parts. Enjoyed focusing on drums.

How about least votes in drum round gets to pick sample? Or is that too out there?

Ok, I messed up!

Didn't properly read the post or even realise there was a sample pack for the drums.

Joa messaged and was like where did you get that vocal from?

I Just got to chopping breaks as per usual when I make drums.

Copped my first DQ!

I'll have something else up by Saturday because this is a dope idea.

So.... clearly the length of said drumbeat can change.... yeah? I sometimes start with drums but often with melody so..... Changes can happen. Just clarifying to make sure I'm reading correctly..
Thanks!
Oh, and I'd asked elsewhere, but no collabs... correct? Unless otherwise specified as in regular battles?

yes. you can make the drum beat fit to your desired arranngement :)
collaborating is fine.. I think that was just in GD's wrestle battle that it wasn;t.

Ugh. This quoting thing... anywho, Waxramble is confusing me (again! (Totally joking) ... but to clarify , we can ALWAYS submit a collaboration (being the 1 veat we enter, no side best on our own) in ANY battle unless stated?

P.S. does this forum make anyone else feel totally computer illiterate

haha.. quoting is tricky sometimes :p
collaberating is always allowed unless stated in the ruleset at the top of the specific beat battle challenge

pz!

Hola Compadres!.
we're gonna add another week for people who want to join in to make a drumbeat.
the nature of a monthly beat battle would normally allow for more time.
once you finish the drumbeat and post it we'll send you the melodic sample.

have fun..

pz!

Inserted some silent parts bringing the drums in and out in places just to set myself the challenge of fitting the samples around it all. It feels like I'm working backwards starting with the drums haha...The backwards man strikes again! May we live in interesting times

Aight!..
it's Sunday morning in a part of the world already...
so I'm sending those of you who made a drumbeat a dl link to the samples chosen by Granny D. via message on here.

I will refresh the link to the drum beat samples for at least another week for this who still wanna join in.
