Hey all,
Putting together a longer post after finally wrapping up the migration work from STBB Forever 1.0 to 2.0 - it's been a pain in the ass, but I think it's worth it to future-proof us as much as possible!
There are a few things lost or goofed up during the transition, including some BBcode formatting not transferring over (I've tried my best to re-add as many as possible) or some posts losing their content - at this time these will be legacy issues I can't fix - but for anything moving forward I think we're all good and shouldn't experience the types of outages we were getting at the end of our 1.0 site.
Everyone's account, including password/avatar/post history should have made it over - but if you forgot your password, don't have access to the e-mail you'd used previously, or any other trouble re-accessing please ping me from a new account with more info and I can get that sorted quickly. I'm also able to merge accounts if you do any activity from a new account but wish to bring it back to your OG account.
A few things I wanted to point out about the new site in-case you miss it:

Peace!

A few things I wanted to point out about the new site in-case you miss it:
- We changed the URL to beatbattle.org - I decided to make this change to better reflect what we do for SEO sake, I also think it's fair to do so seeing as we're nearly seven years removed from our original home.. that being said I don't intend to change the branding of our site or ask that we make any other changes/etc. I'm just hopeful we'll maybe see some new faces that find us through the more general URL -- by the way, I wish I could have gotten beatbattle.com but the jerk who owns it wants $5-10,000 USD
)
- Any old stbbforever.com links should now re-direct to our new board. The structure of our board is different though - so unfortunately old post URLs don't translate over - everything just points to the new homepage (fortunately the new board's search function is pretty good!)
- The ability to switch themes! I believe it defaults to your device theme (light/dark) but you can change it by going to the bottom left corner of the website and clicking the moon or sun icon.
- For anyone that cares about super securing their account, the new board has an option to enable 2FA - check out your account settings for more info.
- Watch threads feature is coming in handy - this can send you an e-mail notification or site notification when a topic you're interested in has gotten responses.
- I've updated the STBB Winners page as of today - asking AI to analyze it also had some interesting thoughts I shared on that thread
- We have a new Donate page - the page offers some more information on why the site move was needed and just to be clear this is 1000% optional. Those that do contribute any amount will be granted the STBB Supporter badge for their profile.
- Unfortunately the size of text and the fonts available may be more limited than the previous site - I tried adding a plugin to add more, but that temporarily broke this site.. so for now we'll be sticking with the options we have. That being said, if anyone has new BBcode ideas let me know! I've tried replicating as many of the customization options that were available previously and also adding a few new ones like
-
- Fire text,, water text, rainbow text
- OG ones like Glowing text, Shadow text,, Highlight text
-

Peace!
