STBB #996 - Uncle Lou

Started with pitching and overlaying the guitar from Dirty Blvrd. then added some guitars from Women and used a parts of Street Hassle in the middle section too! Added Shing02's acapella on top!

Ran it back again with JoaGymShoe for 996 - this time with Joa's vocals on the beat.

For the 3 extra point rule:
We used the opening of Goodbye Mass for the main theme of the track, and layered it with the guitars from Women and used the vocals from the middle section of Street Hassle. Also sampled Rosie Lewis - Woman for the pitched up vocal chops for additional flavor.

For our STBB 996 submission, Joa and I wanted to do more than just sample Lou. We wanted to recontextualize his work as much as we could, or in other words, take those pieces and build something that stands in direct opposition to his misogyny.

Peace!

Happy Wednesday fam 👊❤️💪

I used drums from dirty BLVD; vox from ST hassle; guitar bass n strings from goodbye MA… chopped n pitched to work?!?!? I don’t know? Fun challenge either way 🙏

Hey All,
I think you can separate the artist from his art. Lou Reed's art stands on its own merit. As far as misogyny and violence goes- damn, do you guys actually listen to the lyrics of a shit load of hip hop? My two cents - if even worth that. Hope all are well.

peace, Hugh
