The rules:
I always loved Lou Reed as well as The Velvet Underground. And although I sampled some of Lou's stuff over the years, I still think he's often overlooked by sampleheads (Okay, except for Walk on the Wild Side). So I decided to pick five Lou Reed songs for this week. They cover different areas and styles from his career and should provide diverse and interesting sample fodder. The rules are simple: Use one of the songs in the pack. Anything outside is allowed. If you manage to work at least three of the tracks into your beat, you get 3 extra points.

not really a fan of LR,(also if a racist and misogynist can go fuck hisself for real),
but had a go anyway. Used four of the tracks DirtyBlvd, Street Hassle, Metal part1
and Goodby.
noisy kind of slow hop, trip hop grungy beat is the result

Yo. What's good. Used 3 of the Lou reed tracks - Goodbye Mass, Silent Hassle and Woman. Mainly bits from Goodbye Mass. Added drums. All other sounds from the sample pack.

chopped and threw some Westside Gunn on there and used the vocals sample in there too..

There's plenty when you really start to dig.
We can only guess what makes them so bad.

I flipped just the Street Hassle track.
( I know this track from this skate video... they use it as intro song for some of the riders and hi jinx clips...
there's also a wide selection of music )

I seem to have struck a bit of a nerve with the choice of Lou Reed. And I absolutely understand the criticism of his person. It's indeed a tricky debate to separate the personality of an artist and his work. So: Sorry for that controversial choice. I promise to do better next time.

i'm happy this info on Lou reached me coz i just like to know 'all' things .. at the same time there's 'bigger criminals' skating without repercussions..

but that's a discussions we'd better not have on here..
