Sorry, outside stuff is a bit generic Joa - what I mean is if you say YES to Live instruments then you kind of have to automatically say yes to Outside Drums and Outside Bass because they can fall under that category - you may have a Moog or something that you use for bass and a 808 for drums for example as well as real bass guitar and real drum kit.

Maybe we don't need the differentiation between VST and Live instruments and it could just be additional Instrumentation (live or VST) or something similar. I think that rule is ultimately to stop people submitting a pre-made, arranged song with synths etc and just adding the sample afterwards as an afterthought.

ah, i get you.. this is the thought:

to do away with the default rules altogether Outside Drums makes the distinction between sampled drums and live played drums on a drum kit .. or 808 as you say is suppose

same goes for Bass.. so most weeks most likely Outside Drums will be allowed.. unless someone wants people to use the drums in the sample.. or play them themselves.
