What’s good Beat heads?
I personally struggled with the samples/rules this week,
honestly I didn't try hard enough to get the browser synth's to work....
I did make some sounds but not focused enough for sound design on random stuff :roll:
Also how to capture the audio to then put in to my DAW on my other mac...
Being lazy, Stoned bad work flow old habits.... blah blah blah.... :? :lol:
Anyway.

yooooo rule list slight refinement ideas....first off this rule list is a dope idea and really helps for damn sure!!!!!!!
outside bass: NO
VST instrument: NO
Live Instrument: Yes
live bass guitar is outside bass. lol. so im a non entry this week :shock: lol being sarcastic but yeah. actually dont know how to clean that up. cause in the past we would do weeks where its no live instruments period and only vst allowed. so get rid of outside bass maybe??? and if i see live instruments: NO, then the default would be no live bass unless the winner states its okay. i think thats what would happen before.
outside drums: yes/no
Foley, (Vocal) One Shots: yes/no
95% of drums i use are things i recorded. pretty much foley and tabletop thuggin(not for this weeks challenge, just in general). should we maybe group foley/outside drums together for a yes or no. and group acapellas/vocal shots in another group. To just make it make a little more sense. the rules list is fire though. top to bottom very clear. just some suggestions. i can kick rocks and eff off for sure. just to help with folks coming in later and asking questions late in the week. cheers...yeah i better get my 10 points for them drums or ima start rapping next week and dissing everybody. with autotune.....

thats what i did.
drums only from what was provided...showed it in the vid i posted...no big deal mane...such a good week..
cuzz lol im getting dumber....this is twice in two or three weeks where i had a full crackhead moment and misread some rules. gonna read some dr suess books this week so i can step my comprehension game up...my bad...damn it man

just consider your foley drum selection drums man.. bird and rain and stuff don't really belong in a drum group..
accapellas are long and vocal shots short.. very different in use.. so different group..
again.. this is a trial ..
let's see in some more regular weeks how it goes...improvement or if it gets too elaborate to serve its purpose.
we could condense it a lil' and leave some room for interpretation ..and creative freedom.. ..but then again.. exact shiz is the aim for now..

I think if you're allowing live instruments that kinda takes priority over the outside stuff - as pointed out by FatV
If you're allowing live instruments, you can pretty much say outside everything allowed as you can play drums in live, record guitar, bass, outboard synths etc...
In the even that someone can't post the samples / rules, you could pretty much randomise the rules to create something interesting! Flip a coin on each one!

if i understand correctly .. as a sample based beat maker this 'Outside' has different implications.. meaning i can sample bass .. and drums when allowed..
it's a beat making battle.. not everyone plays musical instruments/ keys to play any instrument melody etc.. not everyone raps ..
everyone has their own special skill set..
that's why it's a separate choice so far.. coz of the big implications to the progress..
but maybe i misunderstood your 'outside stuff' ..
