this was a good rehearsal for the annual Nelson Mandela Collab week at the beginning of December..

i've seen guys offering and posting loops instead of responding to other posts a lot throughout the last 10 years..

maybe some kind of matchmaking schedule or something would be cool ?

I’ve seen guys offering and posting loops instead of responding to other posts a lot throughout the last 10 years..

I think that for that week, unlimited collaborations should be allowed. This last week I’ve been in touch with a few members but the max 2 entries meant that it would automatically make the 3rd collab a non-entry which isn’t fair on the collaborator… open to others thoughts though - it’s a discussion after all…

This week seemed to be fun for everyone. Just drop something for someone else to pickup.
But in my opinion it‘s not very collaborative….
For me a collabo is to talk to somebody, working together, opinions, trying something.
But the teaming is a bit of a problem on such short notice…. i had luck that jeff was available, but if he had already something else going. I would have to write to someone else… so the weekend can go away with just organisational stuff. For that something like a meet thread could be helpful. Like Joa did: i am searching for a partner, yo i have teamed up with….
The only important thing is that everybody has fun…

+1 on unlimited collaborations and submissions, don't limit the opportunity to connect with as many people as possible. Some come through, some don't. Also agree with directly contacting that person to collab and recommend along with sending a message, send a rough concept to help kickstart that collab. Don't just send a message without a concept to present.

Maybe we should ask one week before the challenge who has time to join and then trigger the pairs (to get new combinations) or should do an excel (lol) who wants to do drums and bass and who's gonna make chops? In my opinion collabs are better for the monthly challenge. I had not much time this week because of work, so I relaxed and enjoyed the chaos ;-) and the good results!

to clarify.. Nelson Mandela collab week has always had unlimited collabs allowed..

it's always been sort of a mad scramble and pairs do form.. sometimes a pity to see peeps offering as opposed to accepting the offer in the post above them..

and then ending up not entering..

so yeah.. maybe like Kenja, said.. post a loop and someone has to post when accepted..

or post what you are willing to do..

or even more organized and clear: asking to collab via the forum thread only + accompanying message to make sure the person directed to gets the message..

Vote #3 was a tough one for me I like Jeff Crystal x nbtbl's beat better, but I like the flow/lyrics better on 5XVT x HESHy x JoaG.
It was a toss up, but since this is a beat battle I went with the beat I liked better.
