One of my (and most of hip hop's) favorite composers, David Axelrod, is this week's sample. His stuff is packed with great sample ideas. I haven't been a part of the STBB community long enough to know whether or not he's already been used (more than likely), so I went on the hunt to get his last, self-titled, album. Cool story behind the record. Even though it was released in 2001, the basics were recorded like 30 years prior. Dude was a badass and got shit done.
David Axelrod: Producer
For a man who likes to work quickly in the studio, David Axelrod's new album has taken an awfully long time to make — 33 years, to be precise. Meanwhile, his groundbreaking '60s and '70s productions have become a crucial resource for the biggest names in hip-hop.
RULES
