STBB #730 - Collecting Sounds

STBB #730 - Collecting Sounds

Recently I got back into field recording.
It`s fascinating how many sounds are to find which you can implement into your beat.
That might be rhythmic structures, harmonic tones (maybe make a piano out of it) or simply a broom that sounds like a hi-hat.
I put together a few sounds that I collected in the course of time. Most of them are urban sounds.

Rules:
Build your Drums/Rhytmic elements from sounds out of the field recording folder and use one of the provided samples.
You can layer your Drums with your own Drum samples.

No: other outside music samples.
Yes: Outside drums and bass, played instruments, VST, vocal chops,…feel free to go field recording too

SAMPLES:

The Fine Print

wow at first sight i feel like the intro of "money" from pink floyd can be recreated with this sounds hehe
gratz on the win sir, hope to get something for this challenge.

Nice rules and samples! Working with the field recording was quite challenging but i enjoyed it.

no outside drums - i used the tumbler for the kick, bolt and ring for the snare, broom for the hats.
bike chains for the percussion

initially the sounds got me thinking about "biking" from frank ocean but i couldn´t find an acapella so i stumbled over godspeed.
sublab for some bass and i filtered the sample with a LP filter. the sloppy chops made it all a bit wonky but i just kept it like this.

Sounds like the bass/low pass has that Madlib "wobble effect". DM me how thats accomplished unless its secret haha. Need to know

Man it's been a while. Felt good to make a beat again. Naturelleboombap, congrats on that win last week and for introducing this dope concept. I used the Audiospur as the main sample and layered in the broom, bolt and flame into the drums. The handrail was used as a chorus accent. This track made me feel like I opened up a mummy's tomb and unleashed a spirit. Hope y'all like.

used an little extra kick to bump up those tumblers and a bass sound everything else is from the samples provided

Hey Guys, long time no see/hear :D I made the drums out of the field recordings, but added a layer to the kick. 808 is a sample aswell. Effects are also from the provided recordings.

This was a lot of fun. Thanks to Ericboderek for spreading the word about this. Thank you SSTB for having a forum like this to keep on creating regardless of money or fame.
