Yo whats good people?
Awesome samples this week, really dope albums. David Axelrod was a G.
I cooked up my beat this afternoon.
Little run down of what I did.
I used the tracks
“ part 2 from the warning talk instrumental ”
“ London ” and
“ Merlin’s Prophecy “
Made some chops and loops from all 3 sample tracks,
Matched the Bmp at 109 and 106.
Found some nice loops, played around with them for a bit.
Added some drums.
Made 4 parts from the samples.
Bounced midi to Audio.
Added Eq’s, Bass amps, some filters, delays and Reverb.
Some Master out mixing. EQ, multiprocessor and limiter.
Peace Mox.

The Poison Tree, The Human Abstract (Songs of Experience)
Vocals in 2nd beat are my own. Im pretty proud of how the "The Human Abstract" and " The Warning Talk (Part 4)" parts fit together in the fist beat!

Haven't enjoyed the process this much for a while.. and I'm also sure this man's work is not nearly exhausted, hell, I've cut op 40+ chops and did not need a quarter of those for a beat. Good fun. First I played this break that I remember starting to understand some years ago, with some of my own drum sounds. Then layered samples on octatrack, it's too easy sometimes. Made the bass sound on a hw synth. Layered up more stuff with Reason, came up with the harmonized "Daaa-aaamn". Tried some Ableton stuff that didn't work. Back to Reason with the OT as master with the song mode. Added the section with strums and different bass. Messed with some fx on the old miniKP2 (really looking to get a KP3 because the jacks are bad). then COOKED it with FlatBlaster (Reaktor thing).
