Hey All, "Where is my Mind?"
I remember the first time I heard this song on the local college radio station. It was by some band named The Pixies which I had never heard of. I had a religious experience and went out to buy the cassette for my walkman. I got the wrong album as their album "Doolittle " was just released but that did just fine. I was living in a cement shack with no bathroom in the middle of a cow pasture and I wore the printing off the cassette. I won a contest at school and had some cash and bought a guitar and amp. I never learned to play too well but damn I made some noise. I got to see them a few years later and then I got to see them a few years back when they toured for the 25th anniversary of Doolittle (time flies don't it?). I was fucking crying and calling out to Kim. A fucking great band. They didn't stay together long but man they made such an impact on me and many others. Mucho Gracias to Charles, Kim, Joey and David forever.

Peace, Hugh

Yo what's good people ?

Nice bit of sample material this week. Plenty to work with.
I struggled to really think of which one song I would want with me on a desert Island.
I Used "Killing yourself to live" by Black Sabbath. One of the most favourite metal songs.
One of my favourite bands from when I was at school in the 90's. Memories of saving up my lunch money and going to the record shop once a month in the town and buying CD's.

:salute: 🖖 ☮️

Peace Mox.

Congrats to Joa first of all. And thanks for the samples and the rules! I love it. Also, it happens that I just got myself a new piece of gear that is perfect for this. Still getting used to this groovebox, so I think my submission today is less polished than usual. A bit of a mash up vibe. The rules this time, are a real chance on those copyright strike algos tho.. hope it stays up long enough for everybody to vote :D
I thought of some different songs first, some of which I have on vinyl and really love. But this is the song that really drew me to hip hop for the rest of my life, back in like 97. Listen for yourself, everybody should know this one

Just chops drums and the island record disk. needle skip, slow it down and mix on reverse mode to miss with the robots.

Hey guys,

had a lot of fun doing this!

This time I teamed up with STBB heavyweight ruedenz to work on a track. We didn't follow the rules exactly, so I guess this counts as a non-entry.

Anyway, thanks for providing the samples. Appreciate it!

relative quickie..
although I don'y know how long/short you guys spend on your entries.

wax is away..I'll repost the tracks and start the vote topic in the course of the morning.. can't exactly after the deadline due to work.

pz Joa.

Yo, hope you'are all going well !

Congrat'z for the heavy win Joa, and for the wonderful samples, it was hard too choose !
For me it's not a disc, it's just one tune on a live TV show in 1972 that I would take on my lonely island. It's Bobby Hebb on the guitar and the voice, with Ron Carter at the bass guitar (Damn rare to see him with a bass guitar, so what a gem!).

Put a guitar(Central guitar chord and all the voice is from my man Bobby Hebb !) , a bass (central part bass is from my man Ron Carter), and drums. The rest is from the chops

For the story, it's the track who put me back on playing music like 6 or seven year ago, after years void of music, so this one is really special to me!

peace

Congrats on the win. I just flipped the samples, didn't convert them into stereo, and did my regular chop. I incorporated a dj with warped and phased copy's of a great song off a great album by a great duo.

1- WigMaster
2- Lil P
3-Alinea
many different pleasant vibes this week. Great job from everyone.
Peace.
