STBB#700

Congrats on the win guys! Great samples

I've dedicated this to the stbb community.
I've picked 100 names starting with the 1st ever stbb winner, Godzilla.
Included new members as well as older heads, plus the usual regulars who have put in lots of work to help keep this great community alive.

Apologies to anyone I've left out.
☮️

Happy birthday to us and thank you all so much for making this "this cosy.. friendly quirky niche on the ol' interwebs" (Joa) the place it is !

Teamed up with daddy ruedenz!

Late add in:

Really Interesting to hear how I all started and your personal approach/how you got in! Thought I'd add how this lovely but very time consuming hobby started for me.

Found the first STBB entry I posted (been lurking for quite some time before). Description says "will definately continue working on this one" well... I didn't :D

Then I went "undercover" again and started really getting addicted from #444 on (also still on my soundcloud).
Never thought I'd stay for so long.

One love <3

Yo what's good people?

Dope samples to work with, loads to choose from.
I wanted to do something with the guitars....
Never mind.

Just gone half 12 here in the U.K.
Mashed this together tonight.
Layered up the samples and added some drums and bass.

:salute: 🖖 ☮️

Peace. MOX

Hey lads,

Congratz to the winners from the previous battle and thanks for the samples, great package btw.

I wanted to say thanks to Joa and to Waxrumble for keeping this beat battles alive. Really appreciate. I think I have never had the opportunity to express my gratitude towards both of you. So when is 700 anniversary I thought I am gonna do it :)
Thank you very much :)

I wanted to flip as much as I can and was thinking to do 7 flips for 700 but it seems I had only 6 out of the provided samples :))

Firstly huge shoutout to Joa, Wax, Granny David, Per.Du and everyone else behind the scenes that keep this place ticking over and continue to strive to make this community better, we all appreciate your hard work, dedication and commitment with a 21 kick drum salute. Secondly big up to all the previous winners ☮️

I hoped to have joined the milestone celebrations with a special dedication of doing a flip on the MPC 2000 using only 700kb of samples, unfortunately my ram went skewiff last night and messed my saved project and all my samples  I've spent all evening trying to recreate every chopped sample and I'm not even close to how it originally sounded, my eyes are screen burnt, my ears are faded and it's just gone 3.30am here in the UK, Im nowhere near finished and Ive got to admit defeat :(

Look foward to seeing what you guys have done

Yo whats good?

Hope everyone is doing ok.Heart out to my brothers & sisters in Beirut -Lebanon..

Congrats to Billinski x P.SUS & Per.Du! Really enjoyed the samples. They were fucking majestic.. Used both but harvested more from Per.Du's as there was a lot of choice.

Made a pretty long beat (double checked there were no time restriction's re length of beat) it's more a narrative to take you on a bit of journey.. Made a sound scape skit taking you through a local pub then driving downtown for a night out at the discotheque.. Made a few beats for each destination using the samples provided. Only drum breaks used for outside musical audio. Got the SFX, foley and atmos from a friend.

Yo good luck to everyone. Big up yourselves.. This is an inspiring community and am grateful to be here taking part.

I read Buttaslick's post.. I'm not an extrovert but it's a nice occasion.. So I'll gladly share a lil bit. My first ever STBB was #271 I remember I battled along before a couple times but didn't have the confidence to post stuff online. My first submission was met with such positive and encouraging vibes from everyone. It really helped me grow a bit from a musical standpoint. The cats on the message boards were mad inspiring and there was for sure an awesome camaraderie. You would learn so much from each other even if you didn't say much. Just hearing everyones styles & techniques was great exposure. Sadly life happened and I had a shift in priorities. For the longest time I didn't''t post any beats online - hell I wasn't even really making beats all that much anymore. I reckon 8 year had passed... My confidence was fucked and I was scared of failure so that it stopped me from even creating at all.. (not like a fear of failure but more just not thinking anything is good enough) For me making things is really important and I finally broke down the barrier this year and ended the drought. I'm super stoked to have been able to contribute to this forum. Don't be scared of fucking it up.. it's all part of the process. Right.. this is heading towards corny ass territory but I reckon yous all get the gist. Big respect to the people that kept this alive.. even when SoundCloud is dead.. It's like when you see a flower growing outta concrete and Big love to everyone making shit for fun.. as it should be!!

Bless up you lot! ☮️

Pz xx
