literally translated as “toes arching”. It’s a dutch saying, meaning “disgust”. In english is “skin crawl”, often used.
*2; “bietjes eten”
Literally meaning, “eat beetroots”. It has the same prononciation as “beatjes”. Meaning, “eat little beats”. “je” at the end of a dutch word is a diminutive (huis/house – huisje/little house). In plural it is “jes”. So the meaning is; eat little beats or/and beatroots.
*3;”Sil’dante weet van wanten” means; Sil’dante knows what to do.
