STBB #696 FUNKY-DISCO-TRAP

It was a hard week to be honest until i remembered the product placement rule so... yeah hehe i tried something just funny.
About Trap-Funk-Disco, its the first time i mix this hard, loud and over high frequencies (its not my personal style i think)

I've used Cymande for all the Basses, Small Dr. Hook at start as pad and later as main sample; Beastie's as the legal terms part with a classic drum n bass break and finally
the use of groove for the side effects.

First vocals were actually recorded by a friend trying to show me his accent long time ago (we are not english native speakers) and the rest are samples from several drug educational videos.

I hope you enjoy

Yo what's good people ??

Flipped up my entry this morning.
I Had to switch up the tempo through out to keep it sounding tight. ;)
Just Added a Kick some snares and a small amount of percussion. 8-)
Pretty fun challenge, and a serious amount of sample selection to work with!

Think it came out okay, not so sure on the TRAP side of things... :hmm:

Good Luck people.
:salute: 🖖 ☮️
PEACE. MOX

Wild and fun set of rules. Interesting to think about what disco trap could be. Took some trap drum sounds and sped and funked them up to have a disco steeze. Took the Barry White and programmed a bassline with that, then took mishap and Siouxsie (shout for putting this in the sample pack) and did some classic disco type melodies. And threw in the catchiest 70's commercial of all time - Charlie.

Hey STBB fam! :D

Hope you are enjoying the challenge this week. B-Dog and I tried to come up with a fun set of rules, hoping to test your creativity.
I already have seen some amazing entries, really dope to hear 🔥

Since the B-Dog is on holidays this week, I have decided to team up with a good friend of mine. We tried to give our own spin on the whole Disco Trap dimension.
Hope y'all can rock with it

basslopzie, discos beatje, loop techno disco, E+F drukkeblaas groove, E+F groove4, Yma Goomba Boomba 1, Peddlers groove 3, disco upside down2, Dewolff evil and the midnight sun, Funky groofski

Yo Congrats to B-Dog and Bor - that father son story and Sirface voting for them gave me the feels and shit. It's moments like that which make me feel blessed to be part of this community.

Thanks so much for sharing your dope ass collection! Was tricky with all the choice as so many!

made a skit of someone scanning a radio and stumbling through stations UK radio FM/AM MW/LW (mind your ears) sampled with this dusty old Akai hifi - Also run signals through for graphic EQ) also for product placement I used old Japanese adverts weaved in between my 3 lil sketches.

I only used outside drums - 808, 909 and some other layered hits.. Oh & a dub horn for good measure. I really did give disco trap a go.. was tricky. I kinda touched on it on my first flip (disco boogie man2.5). Lord Quas acca - shadows of tomorrow trappy for my second flip (Federale langetrap). Made loads interesting bass for all my flips from the samples provided. (Basslopzie, some others I can't remember, I worked kinda messy on this one) Kinda bass heavy this week.. oh yea (Yma Varia)

Anyways I'm a bit delirious from staying up all night making this beat :P

I had fun with this. Looking forward to hearing everyones worx.

Safes
