STBB #690

I've put 4 files for this week battle.
One is from Stravinski's Fire bird piece (hence the gif). Good textures and timbres in it.
In a similar genre, I've added an extract from Arvo Pärt's Tabula Rasa that I discovered this week.
Some 🔥 Stereolab 🔥 extracts, which is one of my favourite band.
And some really cool brazilian depressed music from José Mauro.

Hope you will enjoy the samples. Cheers!

I've been out of the game for a few years. I think the last battle I was in was around the 380's lol. I ended up selling my 5000 & renaissance for rent money, but I just recently picked up the mpc one. I used the brazilian song for the main chops and peppered some sounds from the other samples tastefully in there. I'm not super happy with how it turned out. I had trouble finding portions of the samples I wanted to use. So the first part of my song is following this week's guidelines and then I had a little fun at the end. If this place is anything like it was back on the other site, I'm sure I'll get to hear some great comments and criticisms from you guys (and gals, maybe?). Enjoy!

Weekly Beat Battles at the STBB Forever Forum
NOTES:

• An entered beat may be substituted for another if it's a totally different flip.

Here's my entry. I built this around the Jose Mauro, Stereo Lab, and Stravinski samples. I slowed that Stereo Lab sample waaaaay down to be able to play some notes in since the original was a rather dense mix.

I added some drums, Moog, Buchala, and a bit of piano (VSTs, not loops) to take it on a cosmic funk journey.

I've been getting into house plants during the lockdown. This is my tribute. Peace.

Man it's been too long. Missed the STBB community. Congrats on that win last week and thx for sharing these fire samples this week. Good luck everyone. BBQ Chicken.

Samples used:
Alvo - 0:01
Stravinski - 0:08
StereoLab - 0:48

Enjoyed this one. Mainly used chops from the Alvo Part and Jose Mauro songs and a horn from the Stravinsky tune.

Peace :weed: 🖖

These samples were dope! Definitely enjoyed this one. I used the Stereolab sample throughout the track. Incorporated the Stravinsky and Jose Mauro samples on the second part.

Had fun exploring with electronic plugins on this one! 🔥

A collab with JoaGS for this week's challenge

mainly used the brazilian sample and added some elements from the other songs through the track, hope you'll enjoy it :)

Yo what's good people??

Rustled up a quick one tonight. :weed: ;)

I Made a quick drum loop and then I used the Stravinski's Fire bird, Arvo Pärt's Tabula Rasa and the José Mauro samples.

:salute: 🖖 ☮️
Good luck people.
Peace. MOX
