Just because there were a lot of issues with the rules last week, can I ask for one confirmation? For the “no external samples” rule, are short sound fx OK or no?

Thanks.

Nice sample choices this week. Congrats on the win per.du! Always love a good challenge. Mixed all 3 samples pitched them to match a much a possible. Just tossed this together real quick and forgot to drink water the whole time. Beat had my head thumpin bad. Hopefully it sounds balances will recheck in the morning. wanted to be the first beat up. :D

vox - Meredith Monk
Various One Shots/layers - put the record back into the shelf and now I can't find it anymore
Bass - Friends of Distinction

Actually the issues came from a few people not reading/Interpreting the rules correctly and a few just baldly ignored them..
If its melodic, nope. Percussive fx or so are okay.
You can't use a guitar Sample from splice eg.

Thx for asking!

Here's my submission. I used all the samples. The only thing outside is drums and bass (VSTs played live, no outside samples).

Once again, that was incredibly tough to get all those samples to sit together. If per.du keeps winning I'm gonna have to buy Melodyne or something (just kidding). Looking forward to hearing everyone's track this week! Peace.

PS: I ended up flipping the Meredith Monk joint into a brass sound. It took me forever to figure out how I could use it.

Used all the samples, outside drums only.
made some nice synthy sounds from meredith monk vox sounds.
bang bang the party

Peace,
I played by the rules, used all the samples.
i pitched the Meredith Monk and made it into a whistle that plays throughout.

Big up to per.du for these sample choices - I really enjoyed these :)
Actually it both quite an arrangement as well as a mixing challenge. As I heard the material I dediced to try something 9th wonder´ish with it.

I used:
-some vocals from the meredeth monk track--they are in the pre-chorus/bridge.
-a piano fill from the friends of distinction.
-various chops/loops from the unknown track (hope I don't need to get that cleared for anything ).

Hope it's OK to post this here. This is a non-entry remix of my real entry above. My buddy wanted to hear rap vocals on it, so I threw this MF Doom/Westside Gunn remix together. Peace.

Hi
Dope samples !
Here my pie, classic break remake #Fakebreaks... all the samples are used. One of them have hard mangle and transfom in fx .... the power of turn knobs probably

Great samples Per.du, really enjoyed that.
Sampled all 3 tracks, all blended in my usual sloppy fashion. All bass taken from the low ends of the samples.
Used outside drums - some were taken from one of Ruedenz remix sample packs. Thanks for that brother!

LOVED these samples. Used something from all three. Loaded them up into the sampler, made instruments and played them through the track.

These samples were a joy to work with! :music:
I've included 2nd sample as the intro, and all 3 samples throughout (1st sample as the whistle sound, 2nd sample throughout the track as the 'main' body and 3rd sample as the vocal slice throughout). Hope it makes sense.

Dope week, dope samples, oh I yeah here's what I did, I chop the hell out of all the samples pitched and filter a few parts of each and made this lovely eargasm you are about to take part in, enjoy! smoke dope to this, and chill in place man cause it's bad outside
