Shouts to kompliziertes konsortium, Kongchain, Granny David & ruedenz, 2nd nite
and an extra shout to per.du for bringing something completly different
1) JoaGymshoe - the quality you bring to the table is just astonishing, that goes for both beat(s) and rap(s).
2) kompliziertes konsortium - love the beat and rhymes together - 90s feeling. Also for everyone who does not understand german, the lyrics are about times with the good old TV set.
3) loopin4dappul (even though I considered not to mention you, cause I miswrote your name like 6 times )
Stoffa da Chef follows very closely for me with #4.
This was probably the toughest battle I ever did. GD and me REALLY had a fuckin hard time with the sample, cause it is so full and characteristic, and making something out of it which doesn't sound too much like the original almost made me nuts. That being said, I loved the following beats a lot, but kinda felt they did not put too much of the sample in, so yes very dope beats and maybe even #1-#3 for me, but they kinda fell out for me cause of that. Still bangers, and it is just my opinion.
1. Stoffa .. flipped with so much fun and energy.. really did the theme sing justice 2. per.du ..reminded me of Yello !.. creative ride 3. defMute ..straight ill.
Everybody came with Flames this week.
1- Granny David
2-Butta Slick
3- Per,du
Strong shouts to Bless, Elvis JC, Brotha B, Wigmaster and all the usual suspects.
1. not the best sounding beat (that one goes to 2nd) but mean. SO mean. + a dope Hook (!!) JOAGYMSHOE
2. Kongchain, because this shit BANGS.
3. was a VERY hard choice. ruedenz X GD / kompliziertes konsortium / setta / wigmaster were in the pool.
going for... Setta
Will be honest, with the sample this week I wasn't quite sure what to expect lol -- You guys did some real cool stuff with what I'd consider a more challenging one to work with. Peace!
1. Kongchain -
2. ⚁N!T -
3. 108Villains -
Others notable defMute (neat), JoaGymshoe (fun one!!), WigMaster (favorite use of guitar), and Brotha B (haha remix works well actually!)
