STBB #685

I'd love to enter the SP contest, especially since I love Dibia$e's music, but I can't afford a $150 piece of equipment I don't know how to use right now :(
Anyways, if I get around to making a beat this week, you'll know

Bit of a Dumb question,

So are we also playing by the Roland rules?

checked the page and there's a whole lot of stuff you can't do....

The samples are the ones provided by Roland for their competition on that page linked in the description. If you scroll down a bit you'll see it. And the rules are (I believe) are just the ones here the quiet/loud, but you could also adhere to their competition as well if you want.

To expand on what billinski said...
Roland are holding a competition requiring folks to submit original tracks or flips of their provided samples using one of their SP samplers.
Joa has decided to use their samples for this beat battle.
Just flip the samples and follow the rules here as usual but if you've got a sp sampler go check out that shit over there.

I think the idea was to encourage folks to do both but the extra rules do make it overly complicated.

Direct link to the samples: HERE

peace

edit: my bad Joa think we posted the same time.

as I know most don't own an SP I thought I'd add a simple rule to make it a little more interesting..
hardly complicated imo..

Also I had a question, are outside vocal chops allowed? Like singing cuts?

everything outside is allowed yeah.

Hey what's good people?

I cooked up this beat this afternoon, I just used the samples and some drums, no synth or bass.

I didn't get round to trying them out on my SP yet as I'm still not comfortable with making beats on it.
