we do this challenge like this weekly on reddit (One Kit Challenge) only thing you are allowed to do is process the samples. So quick question can we use our effects. i understand the no outside anything rule just making sure i can use my effects. if not i can just make this a non entry. cheers. if its a non entry i will try and make another. fun stuff cuzzo!!!
Went all-in with this one.
Managed to "extract" about 50 tracks from the material provided.
From from super-basic sampling and pitching to micro sampling (eg. one of three bass layers) I tried to make something that doesn’t have to hide behind all the „normal“ beat battles on my SoundCloud.
The Bassline-Sample included some crackles/transients that sounded awful in the baseline the way I used it at first… however I took the transient only and layered it with the snare + clap to give it more snap.
Since all most of the parts of the sample were polyphonic/played chords, that made it kinda hard/challenging to microsample …
Unfortunately I did not read the rules too carefully in the beginning, so the first (and imo better) arrangement I had started with the second part first so I had to switch kinda last minute.
Could go on for ages now how I’ve flipped this but honestly don’t have the time.
Thx for the dope challenge, hope you enjoy. looking forward to what you have done with the samples!
Yooooo, have been cooking with my Welsh homie Granny David for this one. We had big things planned. Unfortunately, his laptop finally conked out for good. We were left with a WIP file that was hard to handle now in the arrangement, mix (well no mix possible) and master and whatever...I tried to glue some things together, but it's rough. This operation was ill-fated and it ain't our best work, but it won't be our last!
