Hey this is great man!! Thanks for putting this together, I will certainly be trying Koala again thanks to you.

I had posted about it awhile back, but I was having trouble figuring out how to load samples and stuff, I wish Apple didn't make it so hard to manage files on the iPad. Between this and Madlib saying he produced Bandana entirely on an iPad it's making me want to dig into this a bit more (I heard he might be using iMPC Pro 2).

Anyway, nice vid I'm sure this will come in handy for many people!

Ah, sorry man, I didn't see the earlier post or I would have added my video to that. Thanks for watching - it's without doubt my favourite app and my go-to method of making music - really powerful but really easy to use at the same time, which makes it the perfect choice for me. I'm doing a follow-up about in-app resampling that I'll get uploaded in the next few days. I love using AUM like I did in this video, but with resampling and sequencing there's no reason people can't do everything within the app itself.

Video 3 is now up to celebrate the 8 new effects that came in with the latest update (yesterday)



There's also re-resampling tricks and a few techniques I like to use to switch things up even when using quantization on the beats

For anyone following the YouTube videos, number 4 is now live (although you'll know that already if you have joined the Beat Cult ).

In previous videos I've taken the beat through sampling, creation & effects, and this one looks at performance/final stages, which more or less wraps things up for this particular beat.

The next videos will look at different approaches incorporating more external elements, plus a whole host of other things (both within Koala and outside it). I haven't decided if the next one will start to look at ambient productions - I'll look to record it on Friday, probably - but, even if it transpires that something else happens first, ambient Koala videos won't be far away.

One of my subscribers asked where I get the sounds I use within KOALA so I made a video to demonstrate it. If you use any kind of sampling at all, hopefully you might get something interesting out of it.

Yep - everything in there is from a £5 keyboard, including the beats!



The video is a real time beat making session - no "here's something I did earlier" stuff, just me and Koala plus a bunch of sounds I made with a cheap keyboard. If you want to know how I use Koala - THIS is how I use Koala.

To put it another way: recording apps directly into KOALA / processing KOALA sounds using external plugins.
